A practical guide to Torrevieja.
Torrevieja combines everyday city life with beaches, salt lagoons and long seafront walks. This guide focuses on what is actually useful when planning a stay.

Why choose Torrevieja?
Torrevieja works well if you want a beach holiday without staying in an isolated resort. Supermarkets, restaurants, promenades and several beaches are part of the city itself.
The two salt lagoons, the seafront and the long beach at La Mata give the area more variety than a simple beach destination.
What should you see first?
For a first visit, keep it simple: walk the Dique de Levante, spend time by the sea and visit the natural park around the salt lagoons. La Mata is a good choice when you want a longer, wider sandy beach.
You do not need to turn Torrevieja into a checklist. A relaxed day with the beach, a long walk and dinner in the centre is often enough.
When is Torrevieja best?
Summer brings the busiest beach atmosphere and more events. Outside the peak months the city is calmer and often better for walking, longer stays and day trips.
