Museums in Torrevieja: where the city’s salt and maritime story makes sense.
Torrevieja’s museums are small enough to combine with the harbour, promenade or a cloudy morning. Their strength is explaining why salt, the sea and the navy matter to the city.
Museo del Mar y la Sal
Opened in 1995, the museum covers salt production, fishing, coastal shipping and traditional boatbuilding through photographs, models, archaeological pieces and characteristic salt-crystal model boats.
As checked on 16 August 2026, Turismo Torrevieja lists Tuesday to Friday 10:00–14:00 and free admission at Calle Patricio Pérez 10.
Floating museums and S-61
In the harbour you can enter the former S-61 Delfín submarine, with the patrol boat Albatros III forming part of the same floating museum collection. It is the more physical museum experience: narrow compartments rather than display cases.
Eras de la Sal and cultural venues
Eras de la Sal dates from the late 18th century and served for more than 150 years as a place to store and load salt. It is also closely linked to Torrevieja’s Habaneras tradition.
The official culture list also includes Teatro Municipal, Auditorio Internacional, Centro Cultural Virgen del Carmen, Palacio de la Música and Casino de Torrevieja.
