The centre is practical for tapas, fish and an evening on foot. Playa del Cura works when food and sea should be part of the same plan. La Mata gives you more beach atmosphere and several options along the coast.
The official tourism directory currently lists examples such as Mar de Levante for Mediterranean fish and seafood in the centre, Pizza Nº1 by Playa del Cura, La Fusión in La Mata, El Charro Negro for Mexican food and Foodline La Mata for a more casual Spanish option.

In 2026 the city presented a recipe collection with 15 traditional dishes. Caldero, cuttlefish dishes, rice dishes and maritime stews are more useful clues to local food than generic tourist labels.
