Rain in Torrevieja: museum, art gallery or cinema?
On a rainy morning from Tuesday to Friday, the Museo del Mar y la Sal is an option. Later in the day, try the Vista Alegre gallery or a film. Weekends need a different plan: the published museum and gallery hours do not include them.

Morning: Museo del Mar y la Sal
The museum at Calle Patricio Pérez 10 displays salt crafts, model boats and the history of fishing and salt production. Turismo Torrevieja lists Tuesday to Friday, 10:00–14:00, with free entry. Children who enjoy boats and models may like a short visit. This is the existing museum at that address, not the planned new building at Eras de la Sal.
Afternoon: Vista Alegre gallery
Sala de Exposiciones Vista Alegre is at Calle Concepción 2. It hosts changing exhibitions of painting, photography and other art. Published hours are Monday to Friday, 16:00–21:00; closed Saturday and Sunday. Entry is free. Check which exhibition is on before leaving, as a changeover between shows can affect your plans.
Cinema: choose the film and language first
Cines IMF at the Ozone leisure centre is another option when the museums are closed. Select Torrevieja and your visit date on the cinema website. Check the screening time, language, subtitles, age rating and final price before buying. An international film title does not tell you the screening language. With children, choose a suitable film before setting off.
A simple plan for the day
Our weekday suggestion: the museum first, lunch nearby and the gallery later if it appeals. Avoid filling the gap with extra journeys in steady rain. At weekends or on Mondays, choosing a film in advance can be easier than planning a museum tour. Venue and opening information was checked on the tourism and operator pages below on 4 October 2026. Check special openings and last-minute changes on the day.
An indoor attraction can still involve an exposed approach
The floating museum with the S-61 submarine is not a rainy-day backup: the city says it closes on rainy days and public holidays. Its approach also goes through the harbour. Check current opening information before setting off. Save the Dique, coastal and lagoon walks for better weather. Follow local instructions during official severe-weather warnings; this article offers leisure ideas, not a live weather report.
