Which Torrevieja beach suits your day?
A good beach is not automatically the right beach for every day. The useful differences are location, space, services and how easily the beach fits the rest of your plans.
Quick comparison
Playa del Cura is central and urban, with restaurants and the city directly behind it. La Mata is much longer and wider, making it the obvious choice for a full beach day. Los Locos sits between the two: a larger urban beach with both sandy and rocky sections.
Playa del Cura
This is the easiest option if you want beach and city in the same outing. Official tourism information lists services including toilets, foot showers and lifeguards. Its main advantage is convenience rather than size.
La Mata
At 2,362 metres, La Mata is the municipality's longest beach. It is better suited to long walks and a more classic full-day beach setup, with protected dune areas around Molino del Agua.
Los Locos
Los Locos remains an urban beach but gives you more length than Playa del Cura. Most of the beach is fine sand, with an additional rocky section of roughly 200 metres and access ladders into the sea.
Blue Flags in 2026
Six Torrevieja coastal sections retained Blue Flag status in 2026. That is useful context, but it does not tell you which beach best fits your own day, so we prioritise practical differences over rankings.
