S-61 Delfín: you can actually walk through a submarine in Torrevieja.
The former Spanish Navy submarine in the fishing harbour is one of the city’s most unusual attractions. The visit goes inside the vessel rather than stopping at an exterior display.
What is the S-61 Delfín?
The Daphne-class submarine was transferred to Torrevieja after leaving naval service and has been open as a floating museum since 2004. Turismo Torrevieja describes it as the first Spanish Navy ship converted into a floating museum in Spain.
The patrol boat Albatros III forms part of the same Museos Flotantes collection.
Opening times, price and restrictions
As checked on 16 August 2026, the floating museums are listed Tuesday to Saturday from 09:30 to 13:00. They close on rainy days and public holidays. Entry is listed at €2.
A minimum height of 1.15 m applies to the submarine visit, which is particularly important for families with younger children.
Is it worth visiting with children?
For children interested in ships or technology, it is one of the most tangible attractions in town. You enter the vessel and see how confined life on board was. For children below the minimum height, Parque La Siesta or a harbour walk are easier alternatives.
