Parking in Torrevieja: new parking area and summer 2026 rules

Torrevieja's centre and port are being rebuilt while the city opens temporary alternatives and adjusts traffic rules. If you have a rental car, a quick check before driving into the centre is worthwhile.

What is available now

At the end of July 2026 a temporary 7,048 m² parking area opened between Avenida de la Estación, Calle Ciudad de Barcelona, Camino del Acequión and the N-332. Since 3 August, parking on the affected Ramón Gallud section between Calle Orihuela and Calle Apolo is allowed from 00:00 to 20:00 and prohibited from 20:00 to 24:00.

What is only planned

The city has announced four larger peripheral parking sites near the centre and port with more than 3,900 spaces in total. Until they actually open, we treat that figure as a plan rather than available capacity. In high summer, walking, bus or taxi is often easier than searching for a space right by the water.

Sources & transparency

For current information, we prefer official primary sources and clearly separate plans from changes that are already in place.
