Central city beach

Playa del Cura: best when you want city and beach together.

Playa del Cura is not Torrevieja's biggest beach. Its strength is the location: you are directly in town, with the promenade, cafés and restaurants close by.

Who is it best for?

Choose Playa del Cura if you are staying centrally, only want a few hours by the sea or want food and cafés close to the sand. If a long beach walk and more open sand matter more, La Mata is the stronger option.

Services

Official tourism information lists toilets, foot showers, lifeguard service, parking, sports facilities and tourist information. Restaurants and cafés line the promenade, with seasonal sunbed and parasol services in summer.

Accessibility

For summer 2026, an assisted bathing service is listed from 15 June to 15 September for people with reduced mobility. It requires a reservation and is provided only when the green flag is flying, so check the current beach information before relying on it.

How it compares

Playa del Cura is the most convenient for centre plus sea. Los Locos gives you a larger urban beach. La Mata is the better choice when the beach itself is the main plan for the day.

Sources & transparency

For current information, we prefer official primary sources and clearly separate plans from changes that are already in place.
