Using the bus in Torrevieja: the new network, simply explained.
Torrevieja launched its reorganised city bus network at the end of July. The useful part for visitors is knowing how often buses run, which areas are covered and which fare details are still being rolled out.

Torrevieja to La Mata: the simple version.
If you only want to reach La Mata, you do not need to decode the whole network map. In the new network, routes 7 and 8 connect the centre with La Mata.
Found an old timetable showing “Line A”?That belongs to the previous network. The new route structure has been in force since 27 July 2026. For La Mata, use routes 7 or 8 rather than an old Line A PDF.

How often does it run in July and August?
The city currently publishes service intervals for the new network rather than one visitor-friendly departure list. These are the high-season frequencies to expect.

Check the current departure at the stop or through the official transport information. The network has only recently changed and minute-by-minute times can move.

N1, N2 and N3 run every 60 minutes in the published high-season service, with the latest published departures reaching about 03:30 depending on the terminus.
The new network started on 27 July 2026. It includes one circular route, eight other daytime routes and three night routes, connecting the centre with areas including La Mata, residential districts, shopping areas and the university hospital.
During high season, published daytime frequencies vary by route and time of day, generally between about 14 and 30 minutes. The three night routes run every 60 minutes in the published summer timetable.
How late do buses run?
Daytime services generally start around 07:00 and finish between roughly 23:15 and 23:45 depending on the route. The night network continues until 03:30 in the published high-season schedule.
Why Google Maps is not enough yet
The network is still in a transition phase, so we would not use Google Maps as the only source for local bus planning. A missing or unclear connection in the app does not automatically mean no local bus exists.
The practical approach is to identify the correct route on the official network map first, then check the current departure information at the stop or with the operator.
Fares and Tourist Card
The city has published a new fare structure including a €1.35 single ticket, a €9 ten-trip pass and Tourist Cards at €8 for three days and €16 for seven days. These figures come from the initially approved new tariff ordinance.
The implementation schedule says the new cards, passes and fare system are due in October 2026. Until then, check the fare actually in force before buying.
Can you stay without a car?
For the centre, seafront, beaches and many everyday trips, yes. A car remains more convenient for frequent trips outside Torrevieja or when you want maximum flexibility between places that are far apart.
